The winning name for soap #77 is Morning Dew. It was a very close race, but this name is in keeping with the unique freshness of the scent and it is in the garden every day! So my Thanks and Congratulations go to Tammy Houchen, as well as a bar of Morning Dew and a surprise or two!
Now for today's Tripod Thursday subject. This past weekend we took the rv up North to visit some of my Mom's friends. It is absolutely beautiful country and we had a wonderful time, so I wanted to share it with you! The first picture is of Kiki just before we left. I was looking all over for her and finally saw her sitting in the middle of a grapevine wreath, on top of a stack of totes and boxes. She must love the spot, because that is also where I found her when we got home!

What's Working Wednesday-Upcoming Shows
I am three weeks from the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts 11th annual Summer Arts and Crafts Fair. It is Saturday, August 18, 2012, from 10am to 4pm, at 4990 Glenway Avenue in Western Hills, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. I will be among 60 or so Artists displaying mixed media products including; pottery, jewelry, water colors, photography, soaps and more! It is free to the public, so if you live in the tri-state area, I hope to see you out there!
In September, the 15 & 16th (yes that is a Saturday and a Sunday), I will be at the Kirkwood Wine Festival, in Sommersville, West Virginia. It runs from 10am until about 8pm on Saturday, and until about 630pm Sunday. Please note that the wine tasting and sales do not begin until after 1pm on Sunday, due to the law. This is a great, family festival, down a nice country road, set on the beautiful property of the Isaiah Distillery and Kirkwood Winery. They have grape stomping for the kids, bands, step and square dancers, food and fun for all. There are also prize drawings, wine tasting, and several craft vendors available for your shopping pleasure. You will find jewelry, jams, purses, soaps, lotions and more. And don't forget to stop by my booth for your one of a kind wine charm, before you set your glass down! This festival would make a great road trip for anyone from WV or the surrounding states! The New River Gully Fest is also that same weekend. Camping spots and hotel rooms fill up fast, so make sure you book your spot in August, or plan on driving home or to another town for the night.
October 12,13,and 14, I am planning on being at the Wheatridge Old Tyme Herb Festival and Harvest Celebration. It is at the Grindstone Farm, 817 Taterridge Road, in Adams County, Ohio. This will be my first year there, but I am told it is a great time for all! This festival specializes in all things herbal. There will be lavender growers, herbal remedies, butters, jams and jellies, you name it! Of course there will also be the usual festival Artisans too, such as metal art, wood crafters, toy makers, basket weavers, photographers and much more. With over 150 Artisan booths, I am sure you will find something that makes you smile!
So plan for an interesting and fun-filled family weekend, and come out to one or more of these shows!

I really had intended to show these photos a while back, but I guess its better to be late than never show them! So here are some shots from a few weeks back. Now it is completely green, with many of the Spring flowering bushes and trees having already lost their pretty blooms. In deed, most of the trees are already full of opened leaves. Next week I will try and get shots of the area now, so that you can compare. This year has been a very strange weather year for sure!

What's Happening Wednesday-
What is happening this Wednesday is that I am taking off for a few days! My 50th birthday is tomorrow and I am heading out to begin my celebration! So you will have to forgive me for the short post today and the inclusion of tomorrows' pictures for Tripod Thursday. Now don't feel bad if you want to go ahead and cheat and look at the photos today, since it's my birthday I will allow it! But, if you'd rather play it straight, you can always come back tomorrow and look at them then! Tripod Thursdays- Spring and Summer are Coming
Since it is snowing here again......supposed to get 6-7 inches, I am dreaming of warm weather, yet again. So for todays tripod shots, I pulled photos of spring and summer flowers, beaches, and other scenery.
I took all of these shots. Most are from my home and the homes of some of my friends, but some are from our vacation in Florida, and some are "just around" pictures. I generally carry my camera with me, and am known to pull over on the side of the road to snap away. I hope that you can embrace the warmth of the seasons to come, please relax and enjoy!

Tripod Thursdays
I love to take photos, and take thousands, so I would love to share some with you...don't worry it wont be more than a few hundred, lol. Now that I think of it, I guess that I should have saved the pictures from yesterday for today, oh well, as I said, I have plenty! I thought it might be interesting to offer to include some of your photos at times, so feel free to let me know if you one or two that you would like to contribute (all copyrights remain the sole property of the contributor and by their submission, they represent that the work is their intellectual property).
I live in Ohio, referred to as the Buckeye state. We have four seasons and weather that changes frequently. Everyone says [that] "if you don't like the weather here, stick around it will change!" And change it does. To help you understand, we had snow on the ground for Christmas, and temperatures down in the single digits. By new years eve we had no snow and temperatures in the 50's! Of course, now it is back down in the 20's. It has snowed a tad, but did not stick, so it is just dreary and cold! The only time I like winter is for Christmas, then I hate the cold and the grey of it all. I can't wait until spring when it will be muddy but colorful again!
The pictures today are all Ohio scenery. I love nature and nature's palate is my favorite photo opportunity, which drives my Mother crazy. She is all for pictures with someone you know in them, so she says "wait, wait, til I get over there" and I am quickly shooting or saying, "move, I want to get that great flower or tree-line, or whatever", lol! As a matter of fact, several people have suggested that I sell some of my (scenery) photographs. That may turn out to be part of my new listing goals, I haven't quite decided. At any rate, I do have about two thousand pictures of my Grandson already, so I take my fair share of people shots too, I just truly love nature shots, they move me!
How many Days til When?
With fall officially here, leaves beginning to turn and the outdoor festivals quickly coming to the seasons end, clothing and minds begin to focus on winters arrival, and the Christmas countdown begins. Of course, for some, it began in ernest the day after Christmas past, but for most it will come with the force-feeding of the retail merchants who begin banging the seasons and holidays into our faces a good three months before the impending date. Hence we have come to expect school clothing trends to be shown in June, Halloween in August and Christmas in September. Maybe I exaggerate a tad, but not much I am sure you will agree.
At any rate, in keeping with this "early" trend, I generally have the majority of my Christmas decorations made by now. In fact, in just a few weeks I will have to have boxes made, tagged and packed for delivery to Christmas at the Cabin, which will open for the season for the season during the Fall Festival of the Leaves in Bainbridege, Ohio. This small town lies between Chillicothe, Ohio and Hillsboro, Ohio on ro
ute 50, smack dab in the middle of not much, lol. It never ceases to amaze me each year the number of people that actually find this town and its two stop lights to celebrate fall and funnel cakes! But I digress. As the festival start date looms, I am left with the realization that I am further behind than I have ever been. Where did the summer go? It certainly wasn't full of beach days, sun and fun. In fact, I don't think it was warm enough to swim more than a day or two. Such weird weather this year, which could lead to many jumping off conversations, but I'll just ask, if summer wasn't really summer like, what will winter be like? No matter what it's like, I am sure that Christmas will still come on the 25 th of December and that I am behind in my decoration/ornament crafting. Sooooooooo that is what I will be doing for the next few weeks! Wreaths, ornaments, scrapbook pages, sleighs, cross-stitches, look out, here I come!
